		<description>The best way to blog as a hobby, is simply to blog about what interests you. I think the category of personal blog, aka blog as a hobby, means that it won&#039;t fit in to any other category. 

Bit of tech, bit of music, bit of photos... bits of life.

Once you start blogging about one particular think only, your blog has crossed the line in to a focused blog. It may still be a hobby to you, but your focus means that its a blog about X.

X can be anything. Politics to managing developers to cat herding (same thing really) but by putting a focus in one direction, the dynamic is changed.

To someone on the outside, the is a specialist blog, a place to find out about X. In theory you could spin this off separately and base a business around your expertise on X. 

The exception is if the blog is attached to a business, (similar to above, but in the opposite direction) and the off business blog posts are more to show that a real person is running things (as opposed to a press releasing droid)

There are pro bloggers out there, but I&#039;ll ask you this. Would you put advertising on this blog?</description>
